Im almost 9 years out! I lost a total of 165 lbs and had 3 kids after!  Ive maintained about 130 lbs weight loss the last 4 years! Anyhow my new PCM(we just moved from tx to new york) is sending me to see a bariatric surgeon for follow up care and to be scoped....Has anyone been scopped after and how do they do it? in ofice Same Day Surgery? Im still roughly 100 over my "ideal" weight and my PCM was saying they may need to do a revision? also anyone here ever have one under tricare?

scoped and EGD is the same thing.  They put you to sleep, you have a mouth piece in your mouth so they can put the camera in and go down thru your esophagus, small stomach and part of the upper intestines.  I just had one done.  Doesn't take but like 30 to 40 minutes to do

Just had one done Friday. Easy peasy. Like she said, they put you to sleep (twilight sleep), put the mouth piece in, spray your mouth with yucky numbing stuff...in and out. Doesn't take long. They did a dilation, removed a staple, took cultures, etc on me and I was still only in there for less than an hour for the procedure. Now, waiting to get the scope and waiting to be released was a bit longer, but won't take long at all.
