so i know the protein bullets that are out there are collagenic based and the wrong protein for us. however i went through old posts of people from back in 08 and 09 and some currently, that still use different types of protein bullets to get their protein in. my question is, those of you who actually use the protein bullets what are your labs like? what does your surgeons/NUT say about those protein bullets?

I have an appt with my surgeon and NUT on tuesday and am going to discuss with them. But my brother had the surgery three years ago and was told by a NUT to use them! NOW TOBE FAIR, IT WAS THE NUTRITIONIST AT THE HOSPITAL, not the surgeons office. But still, you'd think she'd have known better right? I returned my "stash" to GNC today and made a protein shake that I managed to gag down.....

My cousin used them 3 years ago well almost 4 years ago when she had the surgery. I read back in posts from that far back of lots of people using them. I asked my cousin tonight and she said back then everyone was using them and now hardly anyone does. My guess is that it was new back then, and now that years gone by they know more about it. I'm asking my surgeon and my NUT on the 12th when I see them on thursday to see what they say about it. very curious about their responses

Keep in mind that some "nutritionists" are just people with a degree (and sometimes just an Associate degree, at that) in dietetics, and have NO idea what the detailed biology is of absorbing vitamins, protein, and other nutrients...

Unfortuinately, neither do some surgeons, which is part of the reason that I selected the surgeon that I did... in addition to her medical degree, she has a prior PhD in neurophysiology.

Actually, anyone can call themselves a "nutrititionist."  Look for a " registered dietician."  An RD has a degree AND passed an exam.

I only used the fruit punch bullets bought from wal mart.  My labs where great never had any problems.  They where easy to travel with and I mixed them with fuze zero calorie drinks.  Best of luck to you.
