Meals....Any tips??? Sample meal plans HELP!
Hello~
I am two weeks out from my RNY Revision. I am very familiar with the bariatric diet, however the first time I was able to eat by the time I left the hospital.
This time, I have a shake for breakfast and lunch and now I can one 3 oz meal for dinner this will continue for 2 weeks. However, I am starving. I finished my shake at 1pm it is now 7:30pm and have not eaten y et just got home.....What am I supposed to do with 6.5 hours in between meals....I am truly hungry.....it is not in my head.....I am starved...
Can anyone please give me a sample of your exact meal plan....and how often you eat and what you eat????
Confused ....and hungry......and sad.....LOL thanks

My doc and NUT both say to eat every 3 hours. Here is what I did today (keep in mind i'm about 9 months out)
6am Click and coffee
9am yogurt and 1/2 c kashi go lean
12pm 2 turkey & cheese rollups & 4 cherry tomatoes
3pm 2oz red fat peanut butter & 1/2 apple, sliced w/o skin
6pm meatloaf muffin (meatloaf made w/ ground turkey & cooked in a muffin pan) & 1/2 c green beans
9pm I'll have another yogurt or some cheese
Hope this helps...the first month was the hardest for me.

Is that your surgeon's plan that you have 2 shakes and then a 3 oz meal? I could never make it on 3 meals a day. I normally do 5-6 small meals or 3 meals and a couple of snacks. I am a little over 2 years out. My daughter is 1 year out and both of my sons are 5 months out. The four of us had the same surgeon.
At two weeks out, here we followed a full liquid sample diet. here is a sample of a day for the first two weeks (according to our program)
8-8:30 1 oounce oatmeal
9-10:00 8 ounces water
10-11:00 1 cup protein drink
11-12:30 8-12 ounces of water
1-1:30 1-2 ounces cream soup
2-3:00 8 ounces water
3-4:00 1 cup protein drink
4-5:30 8 ounces water
6-6:30 1-2 ounces light yogurt
7-8:00 8 ounces water
8-9:00 1 cup protein drink
Hope that helps.

Thanks to both of you for those sample plans and especially the times of the day. My surgery is on the 3rd of June and I'm trying to get in all the vitamins, fiber, protein, water etc. that I'll be doing post op. I also have this psychosomatic inability to eat much right now. I mean, a week ago, I was eating huge portions, feeling like I hadn't had enough. Today I got in less than 1,000 calories and felt no hunger.
Anyway I've been sitting here trying to figure out a daily schedule for eating post op and your posts with the times helped.
Also, I found the Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies book a help to do some menu and supplements planning. Has some recipes - even for the 1st week- in it.
