I sell a product which shall remain nameless so no one thinks I am drumming up business...lol

Anyhow - needed to try a recipe for a microwave cake before demo-ing it at a party.  Here's the recipe:

1 pkg devil's food cake make (I used the new Pillsbury Sugar-free mix)
1 15 oz can of pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
3 eggs
1 T cinnamon vanilla

put in the cooker (which shall remain nameless...lol), place in microwave and cook for 9 1/2 minutes.  (micros vary)

I calculated nutrition info and here it is for 1/12 of cake (which I did not eat 1/12th - but my hubby has had his share of it!!!)

32g carbs 4g protein 5g fat 2g fiber 1.3g sugar 151 calories

I know, I know - too many carbs for some but if you are an all things in moderation person once in a blue moon this is not bad given total calories and sugar..  I topped it with SF cool whip.

So - my question is this...Has anyone ever added a scoop of protein powder to a recipe and how does it work out when you do?   Thinking it would be a way to make it even more friendly for that once in a blue moon treat.

I appreciate all comments and suggestions!

You have to be careful with some protein powders.  They don't like heat over 130 degrees.  I made the mistake with some hot chocolate on my preop diet.  Stirred it in before it was cool enough and it made it disgusting.  Turned it into a gel like substance.

Eggface has protein cake recipes which get cooked in the micro...I would think as long as the volume is enough to stand the cooking time it would be okay.
