couple rough days

so I have been VERY fortunate in my post op journey so far with little to no issues and I am so thankful for that....but it's been a little disconcerting to have had a patch of rough days. I am constantly "queasy"for the last 3 days....I have no desire to eat any food and have forced myself a few times (Mainly b/c hubby was FReakiNG out). I have managed to get in my protein, water and vitamins religiously. And it's not like I've vomited either. It's just a "not well"  feeling, like I could get sick at any moment.

The other thing I've noticed is that when I do eat I ALWAYS am now getting a slight sensation of things being stuck...and some mild chest pain. Nothing severe,( that has hapened once or twice tome and it is so frightening and painful ).But this is also concerning b/c it's every time I take anything in that is not liquid. Somy question about that is:can strictures develop slowly and progress?  Might that be waht's happening? This sensation and my queasiness both beganat the same time btw.

I have been having two protein shakes per day and maybe getting one "meal" in me..and I think that's ok at this stage of the game..........so I guess other than complaining a bit, I was wondering if others have the same experience now and then.

I'm also wondering what those of you who are around the same time out from surgery are eating.....i.e.  how many shakes per day/how many meals? On a good day I've been doing a shake for breakfast and lunch/dinner are regular meals witha small "snack" in the pm.....but some non WLS "know it alls"have suggested I should be having 3 meals per day with 2 protein  shakes as well....I don;t know, that seems like alot of food to be having and alot of calories. What say you???

Got to love the "know it alls" I say stick to what your surgeons plan says. Or, as close as you can to it. At one month I was on soft foods.

We have the same surgeon and i saw him yesterday for my month post op visit (it was really 5 weeks) and he told me that it was fine to still be on two protein shakes a day.  He said to try and get it to one a day and to sart building up on go my food intake.  I havent had any problems with food but get anxious about adding new foods.  I am doing the best I can at a pace that feels right for me. I just focus on making sure I get the right amount of protein, liquid, and viamins.

Sorry you havent had a the best few days. I hope things get better!

I will pass along the best advice I have gotten so far.... Find what works for YOU and go with it. If it's 2 shakes a day and 2 small meals, do it. Or 2 shakes and a meal and a snack, do it. I know women who are 2 and 3 years out and still start their day with a 40 g of protein shake, just so they know they're half way there, regardless of what they eat later. As long as you're getting your protein, your water, your vitamins in, per your doc, how you get them in, that's up to you. Find what works!
