Does anyone on here use Shakeology???
A pyramid Scheme is when people are recruited into a business and there is no actual product or service being exchanged.

Sellers of this stuff turn up on here from time to time (usually when we haven't seen them for months or years).
I've never drunk a protein shake but I HEAR they are very delicious (can't imagine that any protein shake is delicious
but that they are sold in a pyramid scheme, which may account for the horrendous price - you could be paying for mutliple people's profits!!!
By all means drink them, but don't get sucked into selling them!!!

Run, do not walk, in the other direction. This is NOT a good protein powder choice (I don't care whether it is a pyramid scheme or not).
- It is far too expensive
- it is way too high in calories (170) -- most protein powders are half that
- it is too low in protein (only 16g), especially given the number of calories!
- it is made from inferior protein sources. Brown rice and pea protein, both of which are poor (yet -- ironically, given the price of this stuff -- inexpensive) proteins; they are not absorbed by the body as well as whey protein. Whey protein (as well as egg white protein) has a bioavailabily score of 1 (perfect score); rice has a score of .6 (so you will only absorb it a little more than half as well as whey) and the pea protein has a PDCAAS score of .7 (so you aren't going to absorb even the low 16g of protein... you will absorb more like 2/3 of that, which would be 10g). the absorption applies to your boyfriend, too; it isn;t at all related to having had a RNY
- it is too high in sugar/carbs
You can get very good quality protein powders for 30-40% of the cost of this stuff, and it will have protein you will absorb well same number of servings) that have no sugar/carbs or just a couple and has half the number of calories!
No, you should not replace your vitamins! It has lots of herbs but none of the vitamins that you need to supplement (Vitamin A, B, C, D, E, K, etc.) The ASMBS says we need (at least) 200% of the USRDA of most things (which is two quality multivitamins a day), by the way.
Sorry, but this is just such a poor choice for both of you. I would see if you can return it.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I used to drink them pre-op. They taste just okay. I would not drink them now (not with 17 grams of carbs!) nor would I use them as a replacement for vitamins.
There are much better alternatives out there (cheaper, better-tasting, and more suited for bariatric patients.)

Haha!! I hadn't even noticed that it was almost two years old! Someone must have dredged it up after doing a search.
