Huge NSV for Me!!!

Today my daughter and I went on a nature hike with our play group. One of the newer moms is educated in botany and likes to lead hikes is the state park. My DD is 2, and kind of a princess. She wanted nothing to do with hiking in the woods and started throwing a fit. I was ready to turn around and take her home. Another mom had a baby backpack and offered to let me use it. I insisted it wouldn't fit, that the straps wouldn't be long enough (I was wrong, it fit with plenty of room to spare). Then I was able to hike for over 1 mile with a 30 pound toddler on my back.

I love my RNY! One of my main reasons for having the surgery was to be able to do things like this with my daughter. I was so excited to not miss out today!!

That is awesome! It's the little things that thin people take for granted that make the best NSVs.

Your story just made me tear up! My kids are 6, 5, and 3 (almost 7, 6, and 4) and I am SSSOOO tired of missing out on their lives! I can't wait till I can start doing things with them instead of watching from a bench!!! Thank you SO much for sharing!!!

 An NSV is a 'non-scale victory,' a victory that cannot be determined by the numbers on the scale.  :-)
