ok, i am going to fly next week, would it be better to take some vitamins in a pill sorter, or just in their bottles in my carry on bag? i am going to take all prescrition drugs i have in my carry on, and pack some extras in my checked bag...i was going to do the same with the vitamins...if they loose my checked bag, i am 2 hours away from where i am flying into, so i need to have a couple of days worth of vitamins and my precriptions with me just in case...
do i have to have all my prescriptions in ziplock baggies? what about the pill sorter? was thinking about doing that anyway...
i was going to try and take a cooler with some yougrts and cheese, but am just going to try and eat on my lay over...i may take a protein bar maybe...does it have to be in a ziplock baggie? i
if it helps, i am 8 weeks out post op, i will be leaving orlando, to minneapolis to rapid city....then 2 hours to devils tower wyoming...yes i will be way out in the boonies...nearest wal mart is an hour away one way...and even in another state..spearfish south dakota....my checked bagged is going to have more vitamins and precriptsion and such than clothes...it just wont be easy to get to wal mart like  i have here at home...

i flew like 4 years ago, and i know things have changed since then...
thanks for the help
have a great day

I would leave all medication in orginal packaging both prescription and non.  They don't have to go in a baggie, but it might be easier for transport if you put them in one.
The only thing you have to worry about is liquids.  If they are prescription, no problem on size.  If they are not, then they have to be 3oz or less in a bottle marked with the size.  You are allowed 1 quart sized baggie with your 3 oz liquids in it.

have a good trip.

I would skip the yogurt and any spreadable cheese too. I have seen both confiscated since "gels" are not allowed. Solid cheeses and food should be ok. I often travel with turkey jerky, soy nuts or protein bars. I also take some protein powder in a baggy since I can ge****er or milk in the terminal and on the plane.

You are wise to take your prescription drugs with you - but carry on meds should be in the labelled containers. If the airline loses your luggage, they will return it to you at your destination but it can take a day or two.

I love the vitamin sorters and use them at home - I count out a month's vitamins at a time so it's a no-brainer most days. These should carry on without any problem. No need for ziploc bags here, except for convenience.

Carry on foods must be solids such as cheese, jerkey, protein bars, and nuts. No yogurt - as others have said, you cannot get through security with any liquid (or liquid-like) substance in a container larger than 3 oz., and all liquids must fit into a quart size ziploc. You can get a water to carry on once you have cleared security, and I highly recommend that you do so.

You are going to a beautiful part of the country!
