Energy Level
I am 9 days post-op. My surgery was very uneventful. I met my protein and fluid requirements on the full liquid diet with no problems. I began the puree diet yesterday. But, I am very low energy. Yesterday I went to the doctor, spent 15 minutes in Target, and got my nails done. I was wiped out for the rest of the day. I think I went to bed at 8:00.
I'm not necessarily a spring chicken, I'm 49 so maybe that has something to do with it. I have two teenage boys and we do lots of sports in this house and I work full time. I really need to my energy to return, so I can keep up.

I had zero energy till week 6.. I would come home from work, eat dinner and lay in bed! seriously zero energy... then all the sudden at week 6 I started feeling great with lots of energy! You will get there!! at 9 day post op I was still in my jammies on the sofa full of pain meds, I didn't leave the house til about 14 days out!
I'm 10 days out now and I admire your energy. It's not that I don't have a lot of it, it's that I get tired very easily. I am keeping up with protein and water, but even a regular walk down the street is tiring me out after about 10 minutes. A trip to Target is in my sights for the holiday weekend, but not quite yet. Put your pjs back on and relax a bit! And feel good!
I am almost 4 weeks out and I still get tired. I push myself to work out, but I can only go for 30 or 40 minutes, then I am done. I went out last night and by 7:30 I was in the care headed home. I wonder when my energy will fully return too, but every week it gets a little better. I hope it comes back totally at week six like the other person said, that would be WONDERFUL!
Oh, I feeel you. When I was first out of surgery I was exhausted and spent much of the time napping. When I was a week out, my mother arrived in town (escaping a bad situation) with all 9 of my younger siblings in tow a, on a train, at midnight, with no money and no place to live. It took two trips with both my husband and my car to get all of them and their stuff to our house. I had to spend the next three days driving all day long to find them a place to go and I wasn't able to take my pain killers while I was doing it. Every time I so much as had a chance to stop and relax I'd pass out.
Then, at two months I went back to work. The first week was really rough because I have a physical job. Now, I have SO much energy to burn. I work out and jog almost every single day of the week. I sleep like a log because I've used up so much energy during the day. It's wonderful!

I am a bit over 4 weeks post-op and just now feel like I have some 'get' in me. Was cleared yesturday to return to the gym and swim. Had been pushing to walk and ride my bike... Going to the gym this afternoon and will see how much 'get' I have left!
