the swallow test , from what i know , is a liquid they make you drink after surgery to see if you have any leakage .... they say it taste horrible, but its over really quick ..but they have to make sure before you leave the hospital.

I could not have anything in the hospital until day 2 after they did the swallow test - it's the exact same test they did on me before my surgery to make sure my insides were working correctly. It was pretty disgusting and uncomfortable but very necessary - you don't want to leave the hospital with any type of leakage.
