My RNY was May 16.
I'm frustrated and in a stall right now. I've lost 24lbs since the procedure, but haven't lost anything for the last 4 days. I started soft foods yesterday and experienced a little bit of dumping for the first time. Nothing significant. Just a mild case of the sweats and some mild stomach discomfort.
I'll be glad when the weight loss starts again. Until I feel it, I'm staying off the scales for awhile.
At this juncture, I'm frustrated about not being able to exercise. I experienced some numbness in both outer thighs after the surgery. The numbness turns into an excruciating burning sensation when I'm on my feet for 20 or 30 minutes. At this point, both my surgeon and family physician have chalked it up to a pinched nerve. I'll be glad when it heals so I can get out and walk to help this fat fall off.

I am a "may 18ther" And I am feeling better as the days go by. I am also getting the protein in and having a lil problem getting the fluids in... i am trying. I have decided to go back to my drinking schedule before surgery.. with a few minor changes. I was coffeeaholic for sure!! But have cut the caffin out sine 2 weeks pre-op. So I decided today to start drinking my decaf again.. and thats atleast 1/3 of my fluids for the day. So that will help ... besides that I take my vitamins every day have a lil protein(unjury) in a glass of skim thru out the day.. and the most daring thing i have done with foods is a scrambled egg. I tried smushed chicken like a week ago cuz my doc cleared me for it... and it HURT so bad... I dont know if I will take my chances again... lol Obviously I will have to sometime down the road but we will see. I went thru a gain weight, then stall these 1st 2 weeks. But I don't or wouldn't really count them as that.. I know its just healing and fluid. But it did upset me at 1st when I went to the docs for my 1 week post-op and he was "hmmm, u seemed to have gained some weight" I was like uugghh! Then I read around on here and took the advice of some of the people.. about putting the scale away and just do what ur supposed to. I took the scale out 1 week later.. and have lost 15lbs... so wooo hoo. Now the scales go back for another week!. Would luv to hear how everyone else is doing. And congrats to the 20lbs lost to the post above!
I'm a May 17ther. Does that count?
I am down 21 lbs as of this AM.
I was on a soft/pureed foods diet out of the hospital. So far, so good. I have had NO trouble eating anything and am having a pretty easy time getting in all my liquids and proteins. I am walking about a half mile a day but I will be totally honest that I am wiped out and don't seem to have my usual energy.
I have my lap incision and 6 other "holes" and 3 of them really bother me. It's mostly itching and the pain of healing, but I'm pretty much nauseated by looking at the brown bloody steristrips. One fell off and I see that there are stitches in it, which almost made me throw up. Otherwise they are healing fine.
I feel really grateful!! Awaiting the stall, but that's OK...I'll make it.

Im a May 19er,... so Ill include myself in this posting!
Im down 19 lbs from the day I left the hospital and have had a pretty positive experience so far. Im currently on puree foods,.. mostly tuna, greek yogurt and protein shakes. I feel as though I can eat more than I have been but Im trying to limit my intake to 1/2 cup at a time. Its tricky,...one time I sipped on about 9 oz of a protein shake and took it all in about 10 mins. Have other people been able to drink more than a cup of fluids at a sitting? I believe that when I start eating soft or more solid foods my capacity will seem less, or so I hope! I have a g-tube so IM happy for it to give myself some extra fluids or protein on the days that I just havent quite made my goals. Congrats to everyone thus far!
