I Finally Made It! I had my surgery yesterday.

I gotta say, my first thought when I woke up in the recovery room was "What did I do?" Yeowch!

I didn't sleep well all night. I was up every hour. So uncomfortable. My mouth was dry as a bone and I wasn't allowed to drink anything. I had this little sponge on a stick that they let me dip in ice water and swab my mouth. That was heaven.

Today I was supposed to drink one ounce of fluid every hour but I couldn't. I was full. I got about 9oz in, so not too bad.

What a big difference in the amount of pain between yesterday and today. I feel worlds better today. Yesterday was awful! I had very little nausea, mostly only when I moved too much, but the pain was pretty intense...and I've had two c-sections.

I get to go home tomorrow, but honestly I wish I could stay here one more day. I'm not ready to be on my own.

Congrats!

I am not much further out than you. I had surgery last Monday.   And I am feeling really good.  It does get better.

Good Luck :)

I had my referral accepted from the bariatric doctor.  Just waiting to have my first consultation.  We figure near the start of Christmas (which is normal to be that long).     I've been reading tons of posts on this forum.  I am excited, anxious, nervous, scared all rolled into one.  Reading about everyone saying they aren't in pain for very long and that it gets easier has really eased the anxiety alot.

I'm lucky to have found this site, it has been wonderful in my research.

Congrats to everyone that have chosen the WLS and the amounts that you have lost and the improved life.

Jenny,

Great to hear from you... I was thinking the same thing. I'm really nervous about going home. And I hate hospitals...

I'm looking forward to having the drain removed...

We made it!!!!

Congrats!  Things do get better.  I think a person heals better at home.  My suggestion:  Don't wait until you are in bad pain to take your pain meds.  I took mine, every 3 hours as recommended for the first 2 days.  Then I weaned myself to only taking it at night.  It was uncomfortable when I turned over.  Sip, sip, sip...walk, walk, walk.  Welcome to your new life.  It is AMAZNG!!!!!!

Thanks All! I feel better today, but still having trouble getting in all my fluids.

Today they want me to do 2oz per hour until Noon and then add an ounce each hour until I hit 8oz in one hour. I don't see how that is possible since my NUT said my new pouch will only hold 2oz. Hmm.

Anyhoo...I'm ready to go home. I miss my babies.
