2wks out and eating 1200 cal?
One last slap up side the head. Just because you can push something into your pouch doesn't mean you should. At two weeks out I was just barely starting full liquids. I know you're having a bad day and I hate to make it worse but your kids don't need to eat fattening stuff - it's just an excuse. Feed your family whatever you should eat - lean meat, no starches (no one ever died from lack of potatoes and pasta), non-starchy veggies, SF drinks and popcicles, totally skim milk, low fat cheese, low fat snacks, no peanut butter or candy or ice cream and your kids won't have to go through what we've all gone through because we overate and got fat.
You cannot fail in the first part of your journey. You will eventually lose if you follow the plan. Try going back to two weeks of clear liquids, two weeks of full liquids (strained cream soups and such), two weeks of pureed foods, two weeks of light meals (sauteed chicken breast, broiled fish, tuna, eggs) and then maybe some loosely fried, drained and washed ground beef with non-fat cheese. By that time you will have learned that you are really not hungry - just following habits and letting previous patterns control you - and you will be able to really listen to your body. At first protein drinks, water and vitamins are the only absolute "food" you need. Did you have pre-surgical dietary counseling?
Hugs and tough love for sure.
