is there a such thing as TOO MUCH PROTEIN
The short answer: yes there is such a thing
The longer answer: to hurt yourself, you would have to be eating over 200grams per day on a SUSTAINED basis. In other words, you can't eat lots and lots of protein and overdose in one day. But too much protein is very hard on many internal organs, mainly the kidneys.
I know several postops who eat in the high 100's and do great. The average protein intake in nonops though is around 40grams/day, and some folks don't even make that.
I've personally gone as high as 175grams on a day or two, but I've been told to get my levels up ASAP because they are way too low so that wasn't a problem. Normally now my protein is around 100-130grams per day. I am 2 1/2 years post op.

Techically, yes, but you're very unlikely to eat too much. How much is too much would vary from person to person, but unless you have kidney disease, it would be a very large amount. If you have healthy kidneys, I'd stay below 200 grams. If you do have kidney disease, I'd talk to your doctor about how much to have.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
I have protein first at 4-5 meals and 2 suppliments a day. That puts me over 100, less than 120 most days.
There are other chicken broths without protein if you are looking for the same flavor without the protein.
I still drink a lot of hot tea, herb, to help stay warm.
