complements

I know this sounds stupid, but I'm having a hard time dealing with complements.  I've lost almost 100 pounds from the initial start of this process - 80 since this time last year.  I've got a class reunion coming up, so I had my hair high lighted and I've been to the tanning bed.

I've had complements before - and have had more lately, but here's what I'm having trouble with... My oldest son is 18, and his friends are "checking me out," and making comments about his "hot" mom (as I'm looking around trying to figure out who they are talking about).  My former students do this, too - I'm sure they're either doing it to "pick" on my son, or be funny, but I'm not sure what to say when they do this.  Anyone else experience this kind of thing?  How'd you handle it?

Say thank you to genuine compliments and to the kids just ignore it or bru**** of with a stern look and a grin.
