Candyaholic..help suggestions?

I am a candyaholic.  I love it and unfortunately it does not make me sick.  I don't eat tons of it but I eat more than I should.  I eat pretty healthy and try to stay to my "requirements" but I still eat candy.  Is there some great thing I can do or take to keep my sweet tooth away?  I only have 24 more lbs to go until I am at goal (130) and I am starting to worry that I won't reach my goal when I am so close.
The types of candy I love the most are sweet tarts, Ju Ju Bees, licorice.  I probably eat candy at least 4 times a week and it is normally one of these items.

When you stop eating it, you generally lessen the craving for it.  Once you reach your goal, candy can really contribute to regain, and it can happen very quickly.

You could try to pretend it will make you sick.    good luck

Me too! I was a big candy person before surgery and unfortunately, it doesn't make me sick post op.  If you find the answer, please let me know.

I am a huge candyaholic too and still pre-op, so of course it doesn't make me sick and I crave it at least once a day.

Some things I do that *sometimes* work (but not all the time)

*Chewing sugar free gum
*Eating sugar free mints
*Sugar free hard candy, etc.

These only work when I'm wanting some fruity or non-specific candy. If I'm wanting chocolate, there's nothing that will work to relieve that craving but doing something to take my mind off of it...

Clean, go for a walk, try some meditation, etc.

The REALLY important thing is to NOT keep that stuff in your house, desk, car, etc. If you have to leave the comfort of your home/office or make a detour to go buy some candy, you'll find that you won't really want it that badly.

Good Luck and hope some of these suggestions help you. They help me quite a bit even if I do still falter about once a week, I eat a LOT less candy than I used to!

Would something sour take the craving away, dill pickle maybe?

I too have gotten the candy cravings....it is weird, I was a carb freak pre-op.  On those candy craving days I use the calcium chews lemon that taste like starburst, I use chewable vitamin D and multivits and it does help.  That caramel pudding treat on Nik's blog is rich and sweet and tastes very candy like, I can never fini****  I even got omega 3 fruit chews and Lglutamine chews for the candy satisfaction.  Works for me usually.  Hope it might help you.  A SF fudgesicle also is fudgy and satisfying.  And agree w/the above poster, do not keep candy in the house!

I love candy too.. and I don't dump but I have told myself NO candy until I'm at goal (I have stole a few junior mints at the theater but that's it) how about you treat yourself once a month? 4 times a week is a lot.. maybe if you can look forward to it, it might work?? good luck!

Thanks everyone, some great suggestions and I will try each one of them.  I am also going to go check out Nik's recipe.  I like the pickle solution because I was eating a lot of pickles for a while and I really was not eating much candy then so that might be a help.
