I keep trying to tell my family eat away...... the girls (teenagers) are cooking their dad a steak dinner tonight. They keep saying we can puree it!!! I keep telling them NO!!!

Dinner Steak, baked potato and salad......

I am WAY TOO SCARED to purree some steak... just leave me to my tuna, eggs, oatmeal, cottage cheese. I DO NOT WANT STEAK.... and ESPECIALLY NOT PURREED!!!

Ewww  me either!  I made my hubby a steak on Weds for his bday with baked potato and grilled asparagus.  I was happy eating 1/4 c mashed baked potato with some cottage cheese mixed in with it.  Some things were just not made to puree.  LOL.

Enjoy!

I keep telling my family to eat but they are very considerate about eating in front of me. In fact, my husband has been watching what he has been eating and has lost 20 pounds since April 25th! My boys have also started eating better and exercising (they are 17 & 20) so my surgery is really helping my whole family!

After surgery I wanted steak so bad! We made some when I was in the puree stage and my husband made some for me (he blended it with a lot of beef broth). I was very skeptical of how it would taste, especially when I saw what it looked like on my plate. I took a tentative bite and found that it tasted really good! I guess that will teach me not to judge a book by it's cover, huh. I haven't been brave enough to take a real bite of steak yet (I'm only 5 week out of surgery) but I'm sure when I do get that bite, I will savor it!

Good luck and don't be afraid to try new or unconventional things.

During my puree stage I really wanted steak. I found a french dip sandwich somewhere and pureed the roast beef in the auju. It was amazing! A quick way to get your protein in too.

I would! Nothing ventured nthing gained. Two bites in a blender might be yum. If not toss and move on

Had to post a reply on this, as steak was on the menu tonight for Father's Day (and hubby FINALLY finished our deck and he really needed to grill a steak while standing on his brand new deck, sipping a beer).  I have been craving steak, but after trying a beef burger (twice), and not enjoying it, I was nervous.

Well let me tell you...  It was sooooo freaking delicious.  Perfectly seasoned, perfectly grilled medium.  I had him give me the jus from the plate after the steak rested.  That, and tiny little pieces ~ HEAVEN!!

A couple of bites of pouch-grilled sweet potato and my dinner as complete. Bonus for hubby?  Pre-WLS, we split a NY strip steak.  This time, I had a bout 2.5 oz and he got the rest.  Happy hubby ;)
