I'm Itchy!!!

I had my one week post-op visit today..........surgeon said I'm doing excellent...........haven't experienced any problems.........getting 80 oz. protein in daily since I came home..........so they are pleased with that.  I'm not hungry..........thank god but I have one problem..........my incisions are itchy!  They told me that is because you are healing!  OK but I'm itchy!!  Any ideas as how not to itch these sites??  Thanks!!!  -Holly

I used cocoa butter...kept them from getting itchy and helped to lighten the scarring!

 How are you getting 80 grams in a day?  I can barely get 15!  Please advise ;)

As for the itching, you could also try some hydrocortisone cream! Good luck!

P.S. Do you mind me asking what your weight did this first week?

Hi!  I had lost 8 lbs. on my pre-op diet and my first week I have lost 6 lbs. so a total of 14 lbs. gone!!  I am still on my liquid diet.  They have me drinking (2) 8 oz. Bariatrix Proetin Dink - 15 g. protein = 30 g. protein and (2) Z-Pro Choclate Protein Shakes - 25 g. protein each = 50 g. protein;  so the total of protein is 80 g. protein.  Easy..........they just have me drink it.  Before I went for my visit yesterday they had me drinking 60 g. protein so they upped it today to 80 oz. and  I will go back to the dr. in a month.  Hope this helps!!  Holly

I used Neosporin on mine, helped cure and relieve itch.  But if they do drive you nuts anyway, slap them, don't itch.  Seriously, sounds stupid, but it works!

HOLLY!!!! We did it! I've been wondering how you were doing. I'm 5 days post op today and doing well also. My only complaint is I can't flipping sleep over 2 -3 hours at a time without waking up with a headache! Have you had any headaches????
