Prednisone Makes me hungry

 These steriods are making me SOOO hungry!!! i went from no appetite to wanting everything!! thank god its just a 6 day dose! i am really good about making protein wise choices so thats good just like AAAAHHHH gimmie gimmie food!! lol i have no problem right now hitting my protein goals! so thats a plus! 

So true so true, increased appetite along with fluid retention often lead to a few pounds gained while taking steroids. Lucky for you it is a six day course.

Yes, it's good that ti is a short course.  The bright side may be that it enables you to more easily get in enough protein even once you are off the meds...

 whats funny is i dropped 6 lbs since starting them!! lol Maybe the increase in the protein and jump start to my metabolism with the helped! lol  Im very excited to now be in the 250's!!! woohooo

I take prednisone daily (no functioning adrenals) and since the surgery my appetite has been less on my regular dose. When I have to increase it due to illness or stress I notice I crave carbs more, that's when I do a lot of drinking Crystal light to fill up my tummy. It is hard, but I continue to lose weight at a steady pace so I am glad for that. I just pray that when the malabsorption stops it won't backfire on me and increase my appetitie. Right now my pouch is tiny enough that the 2-3 oz. of food satisfies it for awhile.

 I dont eat a lot at a time anyways even when i have to force myself too. So I make sure to make good protein choices when i do get the hunger sensation. I only have 3 days left on this pack so im sure it will go back to normal for me eating. which i have to remind myself. but i can definietly tell a big difference on how i am feeling reaching my protein goals bc of being hungry on this meds, its kinda hard to tell if my stricture is finally fixed so everything is sitting better or if its the meds helping either way this is the best  i have felt since surgery. nice to have some energy etc.
