Day 1 Post Op

So, I had my surgery yesterday morning at 8am.  Everything went well. I was hooked up to the Morphine pump all day and did my first walk last night. It wasn't too bad. Today I went for my swallow study in the morning. My foley was removed in the afternoon, along with my IV (because it was hurting). I was also given 1oz. of water an hour. Tomorrow I will start on the OptiSource tomorrow and will be getting 2oz. every 2 hours and 1oz. of water every 15 minutes as needed. I also started my Roxicet this afternoon when my IV was taken out.

I feel pretty good. No real pain, just sore muscle aches. I feel like I did a million sit ups on my left side and a thousand on my right. LOL

I am just glad it is overwith and I can start this new chapter of my life!

Wow! You are doing really well! I was MISERABLE my 2nd day- just wanted to sleep til the pain went away you are doing great- pretty soon you'll be eating yogurt and sugar-free jello!

I am now Day 2 post op and feeling pretty good. The muscle soreness has worn was down. I can get in and out of bed much easier today than yesterday. My dr just came in a said that they would go ahead and progress me to the OptiSource and send me home later today. Yay!

I am one week pre-op---how do I find fellow June/July RNY'ers?
