Update to tasting blood post

Ok all I am updating a post from Sunday. I have been tasting blood for days and have seen the gastro a couple of times. Sunday I SAW blood in my spit. My hubby witnessed it. I called and called and finally gave up on calling the gastro and called my surgeon instead. He had me come to the er so he could at least see what was going on.

All of the doctors are afraid to scope me so soon after my bypass. so they monitored me and checked my blood and did a ct scan..... nothing.

We did notice that it ONLY happens in the mornings before I take my carafate.  The only other time is sometimes after I eat.

So I am still on hold until July 15 for the scope. The doctors are both thinking its a ulcer or a stitch irritating the pouch. Either way I want it to stop and like stop yesterday. SO now I keep the carafate by the bed and take it before I crawl out of bed.....

sorry to hear you have to wait .. my surgeon is the same way .. won't do a scope that early out .. hope they figure it out for you!
