Protonix

My doc gave me a prescription for Protonix when I was discharged from the hospital. The stuff tasted horrible when they gave it to me in the hospital, so I was elated when they said I could just take something like Zantac or Prilosec. I did try to get the Protonix rx filled, but without rx coverage it would have been $200+. I can't afford that, so I bought he generic Prilosec.

Is it okay to swallow a pill that size one week out? The first time I took it, I crushed it and disolved it in water. That was awful. So, I am hoping I can swallow the pill since it is pretty small.

I would think so since I swallowed Vicodin (about the size of a multi-vitamin) day 2 post-op at the hospital!

I've been swallowing pills since 2 days post op... so long as they arent too big. but I take zantac and prilosec every day with no problem

Some morning I find i have trouble getting the first pill down. (Protonix for me).  I mix it was a tbsp of NSA Apple sauce to mask the taste and that helps.
