I am 6 months out, and I am a mess this week. I have an appontment for my 6 month labs Tuesday, but is there anything I can do in the mean time? My symptoms are:
dizzy, can't concentrate, can't think of the right word to use, NO ENERGY, foggy brain,  want to sleep all the time, it takes all my energy to just "live" this week. What in the world could be causing this? I am miserable, and I have a big hliday weekend planned. Any advice or help is appreciated!

What are you eating and drinking daily? What supplements do you take?

I had those symptoms and went to see my doctor and my nut.  They both told me to eat more carbs.  I was so focused on the protein that I wasn't getting enough carbs and they do have value!

You should definitely check with your docs and maybe have your labs checked.

A typical day of eating for me is:
B- protein shake with milk
L- salad with grilled chicken or lunch meat with cheese
S- lean meat with veggies
Snacks- protein shake, cottage cheese, whole grain crackers with natural peanut butter or almonds

I drink around 60 ounces of liquids in addition to my protein shakes
My vitamins are 2 multi vita and calcium with vit D 3 times a day

I have an appointment on Tuesday for my 6 month labs, but I can't imagine feeling like this all weekend.

Are you getting B12? You might want to get your doc to do labs and check your B and D.

Definitely get your labs done.

Anemia and B vitamin deficiency can both cause your symptoms.

I just finished iron infusions. I was exhausted, mentally unfocused, frustrated and emotional. I didn't realize how bad I felt until the infusions.

Hope you feel better soon.

My doctor does not have me on iron or b12. I will make sure those are on the list to be checked Tuesday. It sounds like there isn't a whole lot I can do until my labs are done Tuesday. Thanks for replying.

NO B12 SUPPLEMENTS???  That's a big clue.  You need levels at 900-1000, and I bet your levels are really low.  Iron supplements should be taken by all women, especially those of child bearing age.  I'd forego the holiday festivities if I were you.  Get some B12 sublinguals NOW and begin taking them daily. B-12 and B-complex go buy them TODAY.  They are cheap and you do need them.  I'd start with 2500 B-12 a day and 2 B-complex.  B vitamin deficiency is SERIOUS, it is irreversable if it becomes too low and permanent damage can happen.

I personally would be buying carbonyl iron and Vitamin C (chewable taste good) and start that too.

I'm surprised your surgeon doesn't have to you B vitamins.  No I'm no dishing your surgeon there are many that can cut but the majority do not understand nutrition or vitamin deficiency.
