dizzy, brain fog, can't concentrate, no energy... vitamins??
I will pick up some b12 and iron tomorrow.
Dave- A serious question- I am NOT meaning this snarky at all. Why forgo my holiday party? Am I in danger from not having these vitamins, or am I just not going to feel "myself"? I do have a very busy weekend planned, and I want your opinion. I value the opinion of all of you that have been where I am. I'm scratching my head as to why my dr does not have me on those vitamins. Makes me wonder... Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I pretty much agree with everyone in regards to taking an Iron supplement and a B Vitamin.
Starting with the Iron, I would call your Dr and discuss how much Iron to take. I hear Carbonyl Iron is nicer to our bowels as Iron can tend to back some people up, me included. I take stool softner 1-2x a day for this. Also Iron has to be taken with vitamin C. Vitalady.com has some Iron that has the C in it, I just ordered some for the first time.My doctor started me on minimum of 36mg Iron a day.
Now that said I have felt exactly how you seem to be feeling the last 3 weeks or so. I was proactive and got my 6 month labs done now and I already have a Ferratin on 18, which is getting to the low side. I have now had to up my Iron and keep a close eye on it. I am glad I did this and did not wait another 8 weeks for labs and have an even lower Ferratin.
B12 must be sublinguial I use to take 5,000 a day , I just upped it to 10,000.
Vitamins are a pain and speaking for myself, I can get confused as to what we absord, what we don't, what is better for us, etc etc. I just bought a huge Vitamin D capsule at Costco and just learned we must take the dry form because we malabsorb oil and it is oil based. It makes me go duh after I think about it but I am still learning this "new" body thing.
I've read this 3 times over and still get confused at tiimes but this IS what your Doctor should have you on and be testing for. This is the guidelines that he should be going by.
