Well cleaned out the closet and drawers to get out all the clothes that are too big now.  Wooohoo it feels good to say "good-bye", yet at the same time I have some fear of sending them to a new home since when I did it several years ago I regained weight and could have used them again!  But - I didn't have this tool before, or the knowledge I have now of where I went wrong - so saying "so along" to those 4x 5x forever!  I put some things itemized on Ebay but then realized I just didn't have that kind of time, so I bagged them all (7+ lawn size trash bags) and selling them as a lot.  Wow - never gonna hoard that many clothes again either.

So, that's my victory today - purging of the clothes.

Congratulations!  I feel the same way as you - so many times I had to pull those "fat clothes" out of the closet after a diet failed (and they always failed!).  This time there's no going back.  There's a Plus size consignment shop near me and I plan on taking a ton of stuff there!  On the good side I always kept my "skinny clothes" as well, so at least for now I'm pulling new things out of the closet that haven't seen the light of day in years!!  Keep up the good work!

There must be something in the air because I was just cleaning out my closet, too! I'm having surgery on Monday and I feel like I need to get my house in order. I don't have many clothes but I got rid of things I never wear and things I don't really like anymore. I'm excited to be able to wear all my clothes since so many things just make me feel self conscious. One day soon, I hope I'll be saying what you're saying. I'm really excited for you! Post some pics when you get some new and smaller things you really love!

I am going thru the same thing. But I am having a really hard time parting with a very beautiful glass beaded 100% silk jacket I paid a lot of money for. I know I WILL never wear it again, but you know. Anyway I was trying to sell them on Craigslist, but having a hard time. Iam going to place another ad. I have a friend who is interested in them but not sure if she really wants them. I guess once I give them away it shouldnt matter what happens to them, but I just.....I dont know. ANyway, goodbye fat clothes.

If you have some very nice pieces, try a consignment shop. I know that before surgery, it was painful, because I would never find anything in my size at the shops. I would imagine well cared for, nice clothing in larger sizes would sell very well.

Tessie....my surgery buddy!

I have been good and going through clothes gradually.....I have had several trips to the consignment store and several to salvation army and goodwill.  I thought I would have more trouble as I have kept about 5 sizes in my closet for years....BUT, whenever I think about keeping something, I try it on and I am like, OH MY!  Way too big!  Goodwill and me have become good friends.  What a blessing it is to get smaller isn't it!!
