The month 3 stall... it's over!!!!!

At 3 months out I was able to go off my hydrochlorithiazide that I took for slightly elevated blood pressure and now sleep much better than I had been.  (It had reached the point that Ambien barely worked - now it is working great again)

YAY!!!  Unfortunately it took my body almost a month to figure out it had to get rid of the water on it's own.  In fact I had a five pound gain.  I know a lot of people talked about stalls at the 3 month out phase too - so probably all went hand in hand.

Anyhow...  a week and a half ago all the water started to come out and my weight loss has kicked back in.  It was hard to stay motivated when the scale was not copperating, and really hard when I saw the gain.  In fact I didn't even come on this board because I was so bummed about it.

But - plz... anyone else who is going through this - stick with it, have a pity party for yourself if that will help, but don't give up because it will start to come off again.

At four months out I am down almost 62 pds. since surgery,  and a total of 88.  My post surgery loss may be a bit slower than others - but it seems to be the way my body is and I am gonna celebrate it!  I feel great and would do this again in a heart beat!

In fact - started to put my clothes on EBAY - so anyone needing some 4x or 5x clothes take a look.  My name on there is Tessie314.

Thank you, Tessie, for this post.  I'm fighting for every blasted pound I loose.  I feel like I don't have a "honeymoon" phase.  I've *only* lost 41 lbs in four months.  Coming on here seeing everyone loose faster is depressing.  Luckily, I haven't been gaining.  I can feel your pain.  Like Nik's post said, this is a tough journey.  We just have to keep doing what we were told and it'll come off when it's ready to.  Glad to the old clothes are out the door!  Woo hoo!  I've been hitting up Good Will for new stuff.  I was happy to get rid of the 3X!  I'm happy for you.  It's hard to stay motivated when we want all of it off like yesterday.  Congrats!  You're doing great.

I had my 6 week post-op appointment last week and I to was concerned that I did not seem to be losing at the same rate as everyone who posted on this board.  My BMI was under 40 and he said that those that had more to lose would lose at a faster rate.  He also told me that his expectation for all patients was that you should expect to lose 10 pounds the first month and then 5 pounds per month after that.

Hi Tessie,
I'm tickled to see your post b/c I am at 3 months also and have slowed down considerably! I know I can now eat more volume than I could originally and sometimes I am worried I am eating too much. On the other hand, I've lost 80 lbs since my original consulation which is good...thanks for the encouragement!
