How do you do it?  How do you manage to get in high amounts of protein each day?

What's your secret?  I need to do better in this area, much better and I was hoping that someone who manages to get in a significant amounts of protein daily would share with me your meal plan and when you eat your protein.

I'm getting protein in but I never seem to get in high amounts.  Can you please provide me with your daily menu, what foods do you try to eat to get in those 80 - 100grams of protein?  Any help would be appreciated...THANK YOU!!!

-Donna

Hi Donna
I try to eat protein dense foods. I have protein powder at least twice a day, generally mixed with oatmeal in the mornings, and with Greek Yogurt in the afternoons. I don't eat meat as a rule, but I eat lots of fish, dairy, and from a variety of vegetarian protein sources. You can look at my profile to find my food diary. I try to log my intake daily. Please let me know if I can offer any other assistance.

2 protein shakes a day made with 16oz skim milk.    I'm not at the point where I can get enough from food to make it to what I need (or where I want to be at).  Dr. suggests 60-80, I try to get between 80-100.

I do a protein shake for breakfast which has at least 30 grams of protein in it.

Then I eat 20-25 grams of protein at least 3x a day. My general rule of thumb is 1oz meat is 7 grams of protein so 3 oz= 21 grams although I tend to eat 4ozs at a time so that's 28 grams.

I love to eat plain greek yogurt (chobani is my favorite) with a spoonful of sf jam in it and 1/2 cup of kashi go lean berry cereal so that makes it 23 grams of protein a serving.

2 string cheese is 16 grams of protein

Shrimp(8 medium are 14g protein), Seafood, 1% Cottage Cheese (1/2 cup is 14g) , Beef Jerky (1oz Jack Links is 15g), all high in protein.  I eat those.

I also have 2 Syntrax Nectars a day.  Taste like Sunny D.  One drink about an hour before lunch, and one at night some time.  That's 50g per day right there.

I get about 80-100g of protein per day.  I don't think its possible to get that much protein strictly from eating...  my caloric intake would be too high, and also the volume of food necessary would be just to much for me to handle.  Youre going to need to drink some of the protein.
