Grapes, berries, other fruits?

When did everyone start eating things like grapes, blueberries, pears?
I am a little over 3 weeks out and dying for some kind of real fruit!  Even just a few grapes cut up in my chicken salad would be awesome!  Let me know when you started these items.
Thanks!!

I think I started eating grapes and strawberries (pineapple & papaya too) around 3 months. Basically when I was cleared to "have at it" and add things back into my diet.

But, I think I was cleared for "soft" fruits (canned peaches, pears, etc) in the soft foods stage.

Are you doing protein shakes? One of my fav shakes has banana and frozen mango in it and gave me that fruit sweetness even from early out.

It's an Eggface recipe :)

It's the Mango Banana Protein Lassi recipe. I do mine with all water though.

Don't do it before you're cleared for it. I speak from experience. There's fiberous strings in melons and the skins on the grapes can get stuck. I tried cantaloupe early out - thought it went down well then puked for 30 minutes. The strings in it make it not chewable as small as we need it to, and it didn't sit right. I was told no grapes because of the skin. Don't want it to cover tho opening to your pouch or something - 2 1/2-3 months before I could eat any of those things.

i started around 6-7 weeks- might want to ask your surgeon.

had a bad experience with raspberries just a few days ago - those darn seeds!  thought I was going to die - couldn't drink anything without throwing up for a couple of hours!

I am 8 weeks out and for the most part have only tried canned peaches, applesauce....  But last night I had 1/4 cup of blueberries and they tasted soooo good!  I did make sure that I chewed, chewed, chewed because of the skins.

I started eating some fruits at about 2 1/2 months and did fine. HOWEVER, BEWARE of SMOOTHIES!

At about 3 months I decided to make a smoothie and used FatFree Sugar free yogurt, and frozen strawberries, bananas and peaches.  It was wonderful, but about 30 minutes later I had my first and only (so far) dumping.  It was horrible...I really thought I was dying or going to pass out.

We determined that it was the fact that the fruit was liquid and went right through me thus causing the dumping.  The fruit I had eaten previously obviously was't liquid and stayed in the stomach longer.

Good luck on your journey

It was probably because of all the fructose in the fruits. Most people don't dump off of it, but you may have hit your max limit.

I'm a month out and its strawberry season and I'm not cleared until 3 months out. UGH! (I did have one though and it was so soft and was fine) I can have anything canned in its own juice or with splenda. Canned does go down well.
