Tore up tummy
I somehow tore up my pouch. It just doesn't feel right and when I eat I can't finish anything.
I think I just need to give my pouch a rest and let whatever I did to it heal. It is ok to just drink protein shakes and eat cottage cheese and yogurt for a day right, even thought I am 11 weeks out? As long as I get in 700 calories then I won't go into starvation will I?
Is it a good decision to let my pouch rest if it doesn't feel that great? I think I ate something I was not supposed to and it upset me. I had a few bites of a beef rib (what was I thinking) and it was not moist enough and it felt stuck for a while. It really hurt, but I kept it down. I have only thrown up once and that was a protein shake.
What do you do when your pouch gets cranky?

I'm 7 months out and my pouch still doesn't like solids in the morning. I have a chai protein drink every single morning for breakfast. I'm just tolerating chicken and most meats and I still eat a lot of beans and lentils. When my pouch is cranky, I do my chai and mushies for a day or so. I find that if I just listen to the pouch (what else you gonna do?) my pouch and I are happier. Good luck!

When something solid like that gets stuck you can try some papaya enzymes, they are supposed to help break down whatever got stuck. I bought mine at WalMart but honestly have not had to use them yet.
It is best to baby your pouch the day after it protests. :) One day won't hurt.

It is okay to baby your pouch and eat light. I am 19 months post op and 2 weeks ago did something. I don't know if it was a gallbladder attack or I got something stuck, but it was really bad. I was out-of-town, and my husband and I wondered if it was going to mean an ER visit. Anyway I ate very little for a couple days and mostly ate slider foods. I vomited so severely I actually pulled a muscle in my back. I drank more shakes and ate soup.
