I'm pretty competitive, but I think that just having the surgery makes us both big time winners!!! Or should I say Losers instead!!!   ROFL

How long did it take from your initial consultation to get your surgery date?

I've been working to make sure I met all of my insurances requirements since December of last year. My first consultation with the surgeon was in March. Since all of the requirements were already met, we all thought that the RNY would be in June or mid July latest. Unfortunately, I have some pre-existing conditions that required some additional testing for the surgeon to be comfortable doing the surgery.   A lot will depend on what your insurance requires, how much testing your program requires, and how long it takes for your insurance to approve your claim once everything is done. Be patient. Be persistent. Remember that anything worth having is worth fighting. -Julie
