i just put some cinnamon rolls in the oven for my son. i used to love eating the leftovers! yes, ive changed the kids eating habits too since my surgery, but my son is 5ft tall & 80lbs. not underweight, but SO SKINNY. he lost 10lbs last year when he started adhd meds, hes been off of them since getting out of school for the summer but still has zero appetite. so i get food in him whenever i can. anyhow, oh how i miss stealing some of their food! or eating it all completely before they get to it, LOL. i miss eating my daughters leftover mcnuggets too! (mcds is off limits for our whole family now, but i feel like i can still taste it! lol gross) buut then i picture myself walking into a regular old navy store & buying something off the rack! yes, thats why i did this.

I completely understand where you are coming from.  I have 3 kids and my 2 boys are the over 6' tall each and over 200 lbs.  They are like grown men and they eat like grown men.  They say that I'm starving them since I can't eat all the junk.  They walk around my kitchen and pout because there is no junk.

And yes it will be worth it when you can buy off the rack at Old Navy.  That happened to me a few weeks ago.  I bought an XL shirt there and it FIT!!

Yes, being a mom is hard.  (I got 4 my self)  Keep picturing you walking in to Old Navy, and stay motivated.  I have a goal of shopping at the LOFT for my outfit for my jobs holiday party.  When those kids go trick or treating I am going to be looking at the pages of her catalog.  of couse if they get really good loot i might want to have some extra catalogs to help me through it.   Good Luck and keep your eyes on the prize!!!

Let me give you a little encouragement too:  I had surgery last May 20 and weighed close to 300 pounds.  I know wear a size 8/10 and medium shirt or shorts... I never though it would be possible.  I had the Old Navy dream too.  It is coming!  And worth the wait.

Sooo hard being a mom! I always used to pick off my children's plates and eat their leftovers! That obviously helped to get me where I am though. LOL.

Last night I was about to throw away some brown bananas and my hubby begged me to bake banana bread with them instead. That was soooo hard. The house smelled so good!  And that was right after my hubby and kids had pizza for dinner!

But as a reward for not caving, my scale was down two pounds this morning after having not moved for 5 days. So "yay me!" :)

I totally know what you mean. I have three kiddos that are all pretty young (6y, 4y, & 10m). It is hard not to finish up what they don't eat.

I try to only make them things I can eat, but they do like sweet stuff too. (IE cinnamon rolls!).

I have found things at most resturants that I can eat, including Mickey D's! I get the grilled ranch snack wrap and eat the chicken only and some of the cheese. Very filling.

One of the things about this surgery that annoyed my kid was that I tried to push food I couldn't finish/eat off on him. He had to put his little foot down!
He knows he can have dessert out ni the world. He knows all the best joints in town. That way it doesn't live in my house.
