OT: Pet peeves--what are yours???

I was thinking tonight about little things that irk us throughout the course of a day. One of my pet peeves (where did that saying come from by the way?) is when you are in a long line at a grocery store and a clerk opens a new register, says "next customer please", and the idiot at the back of the line goes into that line. Um, excuse me? You have been waiting the LEAST amount of time, yet you go before me? I don't think so. That is one of the few times where I will get vocal and speak up for myself. A simple, "I was next" normally does it. If not, I just smack them upside the head with a baguette and that normally gets the message across.

So what peeves you???

Denise

How about the people at the grocery store that want to go through the self scan line but they don't know how to do it?  And apparently cannot follow the simple instructions on the screen.  It takes them forever to scan all their stuff and then they have to figure out how to pay for it.  and they usually have more items than you are supposed to take in the self scan line, too.

Another excellent example! Or take all the produce in the store through self checkout so they have to look up numbers and such. Or coupons. Really? Must you do that in the, "This is supposed to be fast and easy" line?

Yeah, I don't do the self scan if I have a lot of produce.  If I have a quart of strawberries and there is a price sticker on it, sure.  Or a bunch of bananas when I do have to weigh them but the number is on a sticker on the bananas.  But not if I have to  look up a hundred things.

I hate it when people go through the drive thru line at sonic during happy hour and order food for a family of 5. Seriously pull into a stall and order your food, the other 15 people in the drive thru just want a darned drink.

LOL! I was in line behind a lady at McDonalds the other day (only because I wanted a salad! ;)  LOL!) and she ordered for what felt like 12 minutes and I hear the lady say "That will be $35.83." Were we at freakin' Olive Garden or something? Thirty five bucks at McD's? Is that to feed a small daycare or something? And all I could think was how screwed up that order was going to be!! You know there is no way in hell they were getting an order of that size right!

Too funny!

My husband always says these folks are ordering Thanksgiving dinner at the drive thru. In July.

My pet peeve are Dumb asses!  Every problem in the world and society can be tied back to a dumb ass.  The guy holding up the sonic drive thru? Dumb ass! The guy holding a treadmill that he isn't using? Dumb ass!  The situations frustrate me but ultimately the root of these frustrations all have a common thread.  Yep a dumb ass.
