result of low vit d?
Yeah, the cracked tooth could be a result of low vitamin D. You need a good vitamin D level in order to absorb calcium well. You need calcium for strong teeth and bones. Even if you are taking your calcium every day, your teeth and bones will start to suffer if your vitamin D level is low.
You need your vitamin D level at least 80. Many docs will say it's OK much lower than that, but not if you don't want to get osteoporosis.

50,000 IU of dry D3 once a week wouldn't be enough for you but 50,000 IU of D2 in oil once a week is only a teeny bit better than nothing. Your D level is about 29 now? Get it checked in a month and I bet it won't even be 40. And you need it at least 80.
You need dry D3.

Those script D suck. I used them for 6 months and my D went from an 8 to a 14. Each patient is somewhat different in how much D their body needs to reach target levels of 80-90. I took 4 of the 50K IU dry D3 per week for 2 1/2 years. Labs showed a 65. Much better than the 33 I had on my liquid vitamin with 600 IU dry D3. I now take 7 of these 50K dry D3 per week, trying to attain the D range noted. I'll have labs in September--October and adjust my D3 as needed at that time, if any adjustment is needed. Teeth can crack from usage, especially if that tooth has a large filling. I had a pain in my teeth and went to the dentist. I thought I'd cracked a tooth. In actuality, the large filling was loose, causing the pain. New filling, no pain, and the tooth did not crack. I've had a cap or two over the years--recommended by my dentist to replace a tooth with a large filling. Once the tooth breaks, capping may not be an option. DAVE
