Hello Everyone, I am about a year and a half out from gastric sleeve. I had mine done in Mexico, which went GREAT! But I haven’t had much support at home. My blood pressure is CRAZY…when I am up, it is 156/105, when I lay down it drops to 98/50…?.. My family doc. Says my blood work looks ok…a little low on B-12 and protein…?..I am so extremely tired…? HELP! PLEASE!!! Also, my tail bone seems to protrude…it hurts and my right leg gets numb when I sit for long..? Bought a pillow made for this type problem and it helps some, but not enough..? HELP? Thanks for all you advice! In Christ alone, Tonya Bobo Campobello, SC

Wt loss surgeries can result in low bp issues. I had RNY 5 years ago, and I had dizzy spells and passed out a few times beginning at 7-8 months post op.  It took several tests with my PCP over several months. I had 2 Holter Monitor Tests and an Event Monitor test among these tests, as my issue was sporatic.  It may happen twice in one day and then not again for a week.  It would happen more if I was standing, but would also happen when sitting at my computer or watching TV in my chair.  I finally got a referral to a cardio doctor.  One more Holter Monitor test and I had a diagnosis. I would have breif periods of higher bp, and then return to normal. Cardio doc said that test indicated that the return back to normal lower bp would "dip" below normal low--and that's when I would be dizzy or faint.  I needed a pacemaker.  That was 3 1/2 yeas ago. No more issues during that time frame. I'm back on my old bp meds I took for high bp for some 15 years.  I just had a checkup, and the pacemaker is working fine. I was told I'd likely need a new battery in another 2 years or so.  Tailbone issues are often seen with RNY patients around 6 months post op. Loss of fatty tissue around tailbone is the issue.  You might need a referral to a cardio doc and a Holter or Event Monitor Test to see the exact issue, as some of these issues are not seen with one exam. Thanks so much Dave...my doctor just wants to wait and see if the 5000mcg's of B-12 makes my BP regulate...but I have been faint and dizzy and am getting tired much more easy...she says the B-12 will help with that too...so I guess I will give it a couple more weeks and see how the B-12 affects my BP...
Thanks again!

Upping the B12 may help, but you say your B12 is just a little low.  It's likely to help more with energy, but not sure about the bp.  If you don't feel better in the next week or two, as for a referral to get your bp checked with a Holter Monitor or Event Monitor Test.  Dizzy spells, falling down from these spells, and actually passing out almost spontaneously were my issues.  Good luck.
