Sending Friend Request Suggestions
I've received a few the past couple of weeks and yes I've accepted a some, others I deleted. I am not going to "collect friends". I DO accept friend's request from people I've interacted with on OH IF you have a viewable profile and I can get to know you. A private profile isn't going to be accepted.
I've had a couple of request in the years I've been here that I had to block or delete as these people were sending out pass messages to everyone on their friends list about every second of their lives. Also a few from men (no slam to men) there were inappropriate and they were collecting female friends.
I do answer messages from people asking questions or have concerns and will continue to do that. Just please DO NOT send friend requests to everyone you find on OH expecting to be accepted.

I accept mostly all friend requests but sometimes I'm not sure why people even send one because I've never interacted with them at all.

Good point. I'm sort of the opposite. I accept ALL friend requests without exception. I've only blocked one person (who was threatening. I don't generally believe in blocking). I guess we each have our own feelings about this place and we should each practice what we believe to be in our own best interests.
I like having lots of friends on here, not just as some show of popularity (although it does feel nice to know so many people) but because I get to keep up with people's pictures and progress through my home tab and at this far out, I take inspiration anywhere I can find it!
So yes, I don't think anyone should EXPECT that every friend request would be accepted but I don't think folks should feel apprehension about sending a request. If you feel like you connect with someone, send a request. If it gets accepted, great. If not, oh well.
