How much Protein?

Im three weeks post op and my surgeon wants me to be getting in 130-145 grams of protein per day. I asked why and he said because I am a male and I have a large frame. I'm 6'3" and was 507 ( I'm down to 410 now, I weighed 507 in March at my first appointment with my surgeon). It's tough to get in, but now that I have done it for a couple fo weeks I'm getting the hang of it and it hasn't been bad at all. I'm loving this new life with my RNY

So according to the ABCDEFG (can't remember the acronym, sorry!) I am to consume just about 80 grams. I shoot for that and start each day with about 35g in my hot protein beverage so I'm well on my way there. I think for the most part I'm really good about hitting it because I shoot for a few ounces of lean protein for lunch and dinner and that puts me at about 21g or more per meal so a total of about 90 if I toss in my snacks of greek yogurt or the occasional ostrim or cheese spread with soy crisps, etc. Still on the low end of normal for my protein values in my bloodwork. Probably need to up it with my activity when I'm doing the gym 3-5 times per week with weights 2x per week.

Interesting.

Based on the ASMBS recommendations, I consider 75g my minimum (I weigh right about 150 and do not exercise regularly) but I usually get close to 90.
