my skinny jeans are now my fat jeans

So, this past weekend I was in San Diego so I took jeans, I took a pair of size 12, they have been my "skinny" jeans for years, you know that pair you keep and hope to fit into some day.

Well they fit, but not quite, they were a bit too big!  LOL  So I thought to myself "oh no, what about all my work cloths?"  See I am a teacher and have not been to work in over 2 months.  School starts here on Monday, so I started to try on my school clothes.  OMG!  Not even one shirt that fit, they are all big and baggy.  Now I guess I can get away with it, but when you have lost almost 50lbs and you are about to see people that have not seen you in 2 months you want to look your best...right?

So went to Ross and got to buy lots of cute new shirts in Misses size LARGE!! Not XL, not women's....Just normal, regular size large.  They looked so small but then I tried them on they fit perfect and make me look really good.

So watch out King Middle School come Monday morning Ms. Richardson is gong to ROCK her new outfit.

Great post, it's going to be exciting for you to see the people from last year and they'll take a double take trying to figure out if you are Ms. Richardson.

Congratulations!! You must feel awesome! I too am a teacher. When I went back to work last year after my surgery the kids were so funny. As you know, middle school kids will say just about anything, so I got every comment from "You look SKINNY!" to "Are you terminally ill?" and my favorite was a student asked my co-teacher if I was a drug addict!

Enjoy your new clothes and best of luck on the new school year!

Congratulations!!  Isn't that the best feeling in the world?  I love looking at a shirt and thinking "look how small that is. There's no way that will fit on my body"  and then you try it on and it looks great.

That's awesome!! When I finally fit into the skinny jeans that have been hanging in my closet with the tags on for 5 yrs.. I put them on and started referring to them as my future fat pants!! and they are starting to get too big now!  It's awesome isn't it??

I have experienced the same thing I was wearing a size 28 before surgery I know can wear an 18 and XL or Large shirt sometimes.  I look at my jeans and I think damn I can not fit these and I try them on and I fit with some room.  I do not think my mind has caught up with my body.
