6 weeks later, new pants!

I'm about 6 weeks out from surgery, and in the past week have been stuck at one weight and it was starting to get me a little down. Like a good little soldier, though, I keep going, working out and eating and drinking like I should and trying to have faith the universe will right itself.

So, I can wear my "skinny" pants from my closet now (meaning in the 22-26 range in my closet I can finally wear my 22s that I wore for a month in 2004), and didn't have anything in any lower sizes. Late Sunday night I was dreamily looking at the Gap website and saw this pair of pants that were amazing denim-y blue flares. The largest size they have is a 20, and right now I'm in a 22W. I ordered them because I got a wild hair and knowing they wouldnt fit they may give me something to shoot for, but not expecting them to come over my knees.  They came in the mail today. They button! They zip! If I wore a loose shirt I could wear them today! In another 10 pounds or so they'll be awesome. I CANNOT believe it. I have never ever ever in my life owned a pair of pants from the Gap! EVER! Hahahahahahahaha!

I just had to share because I am absolutely floored. I tried the pants on continuingly steeling myself- "You know they won't fit yet, you got them knowing they won't fit, you can return them." I can't believe it!

Way to go! You'll soon see how crazy sizing in the 'normal' world is. I have clothes ranging from 8-12. lol Gap Long and Leans are a very comfortable 8.

That's amazing, I've heard the stories but can't imagine it for myself. I wore a 16 when I was 7, "normal" sizing left my universe so long ago, a size 8 seems unfathomable to me!

That's awesome, congrats!
I thought Old Navy would be the first store I could fit into, goes to size 20 in store. I thought I was a while from that, but last weekend I went in and tried them on, and they fit, and looked good! I was floored! What an awesome feeling!!!
It's hard to guesstimate sizes when you've been out of the "normal" loop for so long.

Congratulations! You totally reminded me I should go to Old Navy. I ordered online because I was too scared to actually go in and try stuff on, I guess I need to learn not to assume I can't wear anything now.

Hey, great job!! Your start weight is where I am at now, currently size 28. Surgery is next month, but I did purchase a size 22 pair of slacks, hoping to fit into them when I go back to work after surgery. Gotta love non-scale victories! Keep up the good work.
