Woot ... last required appointment scheduled
I made my last NUT appointment for September 8th.
I can't wait to have all this stuff submitted to insurance for approval.... with luck and prayer I will be approved to revise from band to RNY and I hope to go in sometime in October.... I am nervous, excited, anxious!
How does everyone deal with people telling them to not do it? I have family and friends telling me not to do it. I'm convinced this is what I need.
How long did it take for your insurance to approve a revision?
How did you handle any complications?
I know I have so many questions.

They are just expressing probably inappropriately thier own concerns for your well being. Assure them that you have considered the risks, and are quite comfortable with your choice. Let them have thier own opinions as you have yours. If they are being distructive or cruel in their comments, tell them you appreciate thier concern for your well being but the topic is not something you wish to discuss with them any longer and change the subject. If they harp on it walk away.
If it is your spouse or children you need to hear them out and don't close the subject to them as they too need to feel this is the best for you. Show them research or take them to the bariatric support groups to ask questions and learn.

I was banded in October 2009 and had my revision to RNY on 8/8/11. My insurance approval took 24 hours. Needles to say, I was shocked!
I have to admit I was very nervous the week prior to my surgery. I heard many negative comments from my mom and sister. I think it was their plan to break me down and I would change my mind. Obviously, I didn't change my mind and I feel I made one of the best decisions of my life.
I would love to answer any questions you might have. Please feel to e-mail at [email protected] and I will answer all your questions.
