Gallbladder?
Could be, I would have my doctor send you in for a scan. It is simple enough to determine, and frankly common for people who have gone through rapid weightloss. Mine went bad prior to my having my RNY, so I had it removed at the same time as the RNY. I felt frequently like I was having a heartattack and it was soooo painful.
Hope you feel better soon!

I don't know. I lost my gallbladder about ten years ago as a result of rapid weight loss and rapid decrease in fat intake. The first time I noticed a problem I had gone out with friends for Mexican food and had food with more fat than I normally ate. That night I had pain between my shoulder blades and chest, like the worst heartburn you ever had, with throwing up for several hours. It happened again maybe a month later, then more often, until finally I could eat almost anything and have heart-attack type symptoms. Once I was actually taken by ambulance and treated like heart attac****il I got to the hospital and had tests. So for me it wasn't a dull or continuous ache. It was pretty sharp and accompanied by nausea/vomiting. Hope this helps.
Had mine removed at about 11 months post op RNY - they HURT - mine got bad enough that even fat free milk would set it off - my insurance was sucky with getting it approved though and I was sick with it for about 5 months!! Make sure and get checked out and document every attack or possible attack, what you ate prior to the attack as well - - it may help with dumb and ignorant insurance people! At least the people handling my case were LOL
