Approval time frame for Aetna?
That stinks that they don't do the 3 month program at your office. I had 6 month or 3 month option. The 3 month plan seemed to have a higher success rate so I was all for it. I had to go to the surgeons office every 2 weeks for 3 months. I rotated visits with the dietician and psychologist. I was weighed at every visit and required to lose a minimum of 10 pounds during that program.
I learned so much and feel like I am very prepared at this point. I had to pay 150 to do it through my surgeon BUT that includes lifetime visits for free to the dietician and psychologist. I am totally impressed with the program- the surgeons office is great!
My concern with the 6 month program was I would just be going to my regular doctor. They aren't as familiar with bariatric surgery so I would worry that they may miss something that would set me back.

It took my doctor's office 2 weeks to send in all my paperwork. So just because u gave it to the doctor's office doesnt mean that they have sent it to Aetna yet. Stay on their behinds and ask them have they sent over all the required docs to Aetna. Aetna is pretty good about making a decision quickly, mine took 3 to 4 days after they got all my stuff in.
