6 Months post op and I'm thinking about getting plastic surgery for my Arms (bat wings) and also a Tummy Tuck.

I'm not getting it done no time soon BUT I'm curious to know when would be a good time have it done.
My friend who had the bypass done is 8 months post op and she already had a tummy tuck done!!
I don't want to have it done that soon but I guess everyone is different!!!

Ps: And when I called they stated that someone would have to maintain the current weight for a while!!
So with that being said I guess I will not be able to have surgery until 2013 or something??? I dunno please post your advice

Depends on the plastic surgeon. The one I called required 1 year post-op or at goal weight.

From what I've read it is recommended to start at the bottom and work your way up. That is the way they stretch the skin and could cause more issues if you do it from the top down.

Pre-op  260.8#...Surgery 242#...Current 190#...Lowest 166#...Goal 155.8#

If you are having arms and tummy done it doesn't make a bit of difference which order you do it in since your arms and tummy don't touch each other (removing skin from one will not affect how the other one loooks at all).  It only matters if the tightening of skin in one area will affect the skin in another area (e.g., if you do a panniculectomy, it will affect (to a limited degree) how the skin on the upper belly gets pulled if you are also considering a tummy tuck).

my BF just had a tummy tuck after getting the sleeve 2 years ago... she said the recovery was HELLISH...
the scarring from arms and thighs Ive seen are ugly and horrendous...
and the breasts have various results..

I "need" arms and thighs but will probably NOT do them... I can see my cooch and FLAT can see ribs when standing but a lil pooch when sitting so debatable on tummy but my breasts look like deflated balloons..
Babygirl got her surgery March 3rd...     She's from 339 to 200 as of 6/14/2012.. SOO proud of my bigbabygirl

we had a plastic surgeon do a presentation at our last support group meeting.
Her requirements are approval from your bariatric surgeon (recommendation), 6 months of a stable weight and all of your labs have to be in tip top shape.

My surgeon actually does the plastics part too and he told me not until 1 year post op. Before they will do your tummy I was told I need to be done losing for 6 months. But I plan on getting my arms and chest done next spring after my one year mark. They need it badly NOW lol I was told by a few people to wait until after I have kids to do my stomach and Im in no hurry at this point to get that done anyhow. Thats easy to keep hidden, but my boobs and arms,... not so much!
