I've had my thyroid checked and I take my vits, protien, iron, you name it I take it. I still wake up like death warmed over and I have huge headaches and food aversions every morning. My brain is in a total fog and I cant hardly focus on anything. I force myself to eat some protien and a few hrs later I feel a little better.. this has been going of and on for a few weeks or so and I feel like it cant be normal.. I do drink coffee but only one cup a day and thats not enough to give me a caffeine headache i dont think. I am going to go to my PCP and request a stronger thyroid dose beacause even though I was in the normal range it was a low normal for me..
Sry for my rant im just soo tired of being tired!

Hi Becca, I am new to this, but I also have a thyroid problem, so you have my sympathies.  I have never felt the same since I found out the problem behind my fatigue.  How long have you been feeling bad?  Maybe you got a bad batch of meds. as sometimes they are recalled for being subpotent.  I also had a challenge getting on the right dose of meds, but I still battle fatigue and I haven't even had the surgery yet, so I find this a bit scary.  You also mentioned that you feel better after having some protein.  Do you think maybe you are going too long without overnight and maybe some protein before bed will help tide you over?  I sure wish you the best in your quest to fight the fatigue.

hmm thats a good questian about the over night protein.. I get upwards of 60gr per day so I know I am getting enough. And I come from a long line of thyroid plagued women and they say your pretty much always going to be a little more tired than the average person but when you cant get out of bed and your head gets fuzzy thats when you know that something is wrong. I wonder if you have a set amount of malabsorption or if it fluctuates so one day I could be getting enough and the next its almost nothing..

60 gr... per day may not be enough... My proteins level stayed low normal until I was able to increase the protein intake to 120-160 gr per day.

Before that - my prot stayed below 7... now - it is finally in mid - normal range.
At the point  where you are - I was trying to get 80-100 gr per day.

wow I think I would burst if I had to eat that much protein.. my surgeon requires that we have between 60-80 grams min a day and its a struggle but I am usually always in that range

What is your vitamin D level?  I was feeling just like you, very lethargic, fuzzy headed and just plain awful.  When I got my first vitamin levels checked, my D was very low.  I started taking 50,000 I.U.'s of Vitalady's dry D.  It took just a couple of weeks and I felt like a new person!  I also am hypothyroid and thought at first that's what was wrong, but my thyroid levels are just fine.
