Blood Pressure
It can be an issue for some post ops. I took high bp pills for over 15 yeras prior to my RNY. I went off bp meds post op, and at 8 months I began having dizzy spells and passed out a few times. I began tests with my PCP to find out what was happening. 2 Holter Monitor tests and an Event Monitor test, back on bp meds, changing bp meds, etc. failed to find out the cause. I got a referral to a cardiologist. I had one more Holter Monitor test and finally a diagnosis. I had intermittent low bp issues. I'd always had a low pulse rate, with a 45 and a 38 during my PCP testing. Cardio doc said I had brief periods of elevated higher bp and then would return to my normal low. BUT, I would sometimes experience an issue when returning to the lower bp, when it would "dip" below normal. The doc said that was when I expereinced severe dizziness or passed out. I needed a pacemaker. 4 days later I had my pacemaker implanted. No more dizzy issues or passing out since then, and I'm back on the same exact bp meds I'd taken pror to surgery. If you are getting good hydration and protein levels, and begin experiencing dizzy spells, blacking out, etc.--start testing with your doc. DAVE

I needed to increase salt. Exercie helps me.
Every time i get dehydrated - or not get enough salt - my BD drops. Really low.
I even add salts to my shakes (just a bit) if I do not eat much "food".
