My Mom, the food Natzi
I'm down in San Diego visiting my parents, I don't get to see that that often. Mom asked about my diet stage so I told her I can have everything expect carbs like bread, pasta and rice.
We went out to dinner and they bring out these awesome, fresh baked, delicious rolls with butter. OMG! I was like "just one bite" and my Mom almost lost her mind....
She is right, I didn't need it and it would take up space that I need for protein, but man does it suck to have someone watching every bite I put in my mouth. I should have lied! LOL That's horrible.

I always feel like people are watching me eat now. I've had coworkers who will make a comment like "its nice to see you eating real food now" and then we'll strike up a little conversation about it. I explain that I can have anything that I can tolerate but that I limit my carbs, sugar and fat.
I'm sorry - that had to have been a little hard. Mom's want the best for us, they just don't always stop to think first.

First time I tried a bit of biscuit at Red Lobster..... I did not make it home. upchucked on the side of the road. In time you wont miss that stuff. You will learn to not feel so self concious or mind when people try to help you remember. I liken that with me telling my son I would love him to quit smoking, It breaks my heart.... If I can be strong and say no, I will me a much better role model for my family.
At over two years out I had to "bunk" at my Mom's when I moved back to TX from GA. She was steadily asking "What can you eat now?" I finally looked at her and said "FOOD, I eat food!"
You are old enough to know the "rules of the pouch". A bite or two off of a roll will not do you in. Flip the script though and if you think one bite will throw you off track then leave them alone.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Food Police are difficult to deal with especially when its your Mom. She does just want you to succeed and was trying to be helpful..
Maybe the going out to eat with her should be discussed. So when the next time you go, it will be a pleasant experience.
My sister was my first Food Police Officer then a collegue at work... Its aint easy.. its life..

I'm sorry you had to deal with that. She probably means well, but it sounds incredibly frustrating. I feel really blessed that I haven't had anyone say anything about what I eat or don't eat. Well, okay, except my 10-year-old twin daughters...but they're trying to understand what works and doesn't work, so I don't mind it at all.
