Sleep beforeSurgery
I've had trouble sleeping for as long as I can remember. In fact, I was unable to fall asleep last night until about 4 am and yet for some reason I am up at 8 am. Geeesh is right.
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Before surgery, I spent about a week unable to sleep. I was nervous, and kept having dreams about surgery and especially the night before, there was practically no rest for me. Don't worry about after surgery. In the hospital after surgery, you will get plenty of sleep, and you'll want to take it easy and do a lot of sleeping when you get home from the hospital anyway. Good luck!! Just try to go for a walk each day if you can, and it will help to tire you out a little for the night. That helped me slightly.
Yes, I'm having difficulty too,
especially after yesterday's news reported that San Diego county, some of Riverside county, South Orange county, parts of Arizona and Baja Mexico had a power outage
and did not expect it to be fixed for at least 24 hours and possibly longer. I'm suppose to have surgery in San Diego on 9/21. I know the power will be restored by then LOL but I had nightmares last night about having surgery and there was a power outage during my surgery. I know they have generators, but in my dream the generators were not working because they had used them previously. DRAMA! I'm not sure I'm going to watch any news today - just sayin'
