We had our surgery around the same time. I personally wouldn't do it this early out. i'm forcing myself to wait until I hit my goal and get to the maintaining stage to eat anything like that.

I am just about 8 mos out and I could eat a small amount of either if I wanted to, but find that I no longer want them. I went to Ihop couple of weeks ago and opted for scrambbled eggs and turkey bacon instead. I did have a bite of my husband's pancakes and that was just enough for me.

You can have a small amount and if you are concerned about protein they now have a mix you can order for pancakes with protein.  I had a small part of a waffle about 6 weeks out.

honestly....hopefully you'll be like me (and many others) and everything made with white flour will taste like paste!  hahaha  I used to LOVE pancakes and waffles and I CAN eat a few bites of them now but, ugh!  don't want to!  For sure NOW is the time to change your mindset on food!  Eat something you CAN eat and you will grow to know that pancakes and waffles....oh well!
