I've decided that since I will probably have to wait till December after my semester is over to have my revision surgery I should try to loose 10 or so lbs.  I'm so uncomfortable with my Realize Band and I am at a loss as to how to start.  Like anyone else I can't loose weight by myself.  Now I can't eat normal foods without having pain from my band.  Any suggestions?

How about focusing on eating healthy, not losing weight.  I know the two often go hand in hand.  But focus on getting as much nutrition as you can so you'll be as healthy as possible going into major surgery.  That way your body will have all the nutrients it needs to heal after surgery.

So eat lots of protein (whatever you can tolerate with the band - stick to stuff like Greek yogurt and protein shakes if meat is hard for you), fresh fruits and veggies if you can (again, I don't know what things you can't tolerate due to the band, but you can make homemade veggie soup, smoothies, whatever will go down OK), and cut out stuff you know does not have many nutrients you need.  So no cookies, no ice cream, no chips, etc.  Or at least very little of that stuff.

great suggestions... I think it's mainly solid proteins that bother me.  Like today I made a nice chicken casserole in my slow cooker... chicken came out very tender and I ate about 1 cup which was about 2 tenders or less.. with veggies... and my side hurts... or I should say my band hurts.  happens with various foods. I'll have to see.

Thanks

I would just stay away from stuff that hurts.  In a couple of months that band will be gone and you won't have to deal with that anymore.  So just go with stuff that goes down easy for now, as long as it's not junk food.
