Insurance companies are soooo rediculous
Ok, so now I get a call from my surgeon's office and they tell me that I have to be weighed in again because I went to my doctors FIVE DAYS EARLY and they can not accept that weight. I was down 10 lbs at that weigh in, for god sakes what do they think I am going to do, gain it back....I don't know. They were fast to get back and tell me that I needed another weigh in for September, so that is what I did. I didn't know what date I went in the month prior. I think if they look real close, they will see that my appointments were not all four weeks or 30 days apart, that they were done in monthly visits. I didn't write when I went to the docs last, I just went the next month. I am beginning to believe that the insurance company is going to deny me.
I know they are following guidelines but I don't want to pay another $20 to have the doc weigh me.

Is it possible you can go get weighed without having a regular appointment and not having to pay for it? The doctor is not the one that weighs me at appointments, it's a medical assistant. If all you need is a weight written in your chart, maybe they won't charge for that if you ask nicely?
Please note: I AM NOT A DOCTOR. If you want medical advice, talk to your doctor. Whatever I post, there is probably some surgeon or other health care provider somewhere that disagrees with me. If you want to know what your surgeon thinks, then ask him or her. Check out my blog.
Unfortunately, the doc has to fill out some paperwork and then I fax it to the surgeon, who then faxes it to the insurance company. So no, I have to see the doc, so while I am there, I am going to see him about a couple other things....May as well get my money's worth...
I just called the surgeon's office and was told that I need to fax it to someone who is on vacation until Monday, which means who knows when it will get to the insurance company but I sure will be on the phone next Monday asking if there is a way to get it rushed and to tell her to tell future patients to make sure there is a month or more between appointments. Well, I guess my surgery will be sometime in October or November. Well, hopefully it will be done before the new year because I sure don't want to pay an extra $350 because they drug their feet....
