Surgery in 1 month???

So I called my surgeon's office today to see if they could give me an idea of what surgery date we would be looking at once they are able to verify my insurance coverage on 10/3.

My surgeon only does his surgeries on Tuesdays, so I was fairly confident it wasn't going to be the 4th, but I was hoping for as early as the 11th.

Well, my surgeon's office thinks the better date to push for is the 18th.

So surgery in a month? Maybe? I guess I could work with that.

Who knows? I'm honestly still waiting for something else to come up to postpone my surgery again.

Everything happens for a reason.  I know that's hard to understand sometimes, but I know it will work out for you.  Have a little faith!  We might wind up with the same surgery date the way things are looking.  Keep your head up and don't let it discourage you too much!

Better to have it in a month then not at all right? I know it is hard to wait but you can do it.

Wow!  Surgery in a month?  I am envious!  Even after all of the requirements I had to meet for my ins. co., when I started the process with my surgeon, it took me all the way from March until August 29th for me to get my surgery.  I think you should feel blessed and I wish you the best of luck with your surgery.

Hi Paula,

we had our surgery on the same day!

it took me from january to july to get approval, and then an extra month to get into the schedule

Surgery in a month would have been GREAT

No need to be envious! :) My journey started May 10 when I attended my seminar. Had my first consult with my surgeon May 23, got approval August 9th, and had my surgery scheduled for 9/13. Found out the day before surgery that because of someone else's screw up that my surgery had to be postponed.

So yeah, I'm not complaining because the entire process is taking so long. I'm not really complaining at all, because yes... surgery in a month is better than never at all, but I should be a week out from my surgery as of tomorrow and I find myself still having to wait a whole other month. I've been at this for a while, too, so I'm not really getting through the process any faster than you did. :)

You are still early in your journey.  Take the time to learn the skills you'll need to be successul post surgery.  Start (or slowly increase) your exercise, try to eat VERY SLOWLY.  Eat some smaller meals with protein shakes as snacks.   Your time will be here very quickly.

Thanks. I've already been working on most of the stuff you mentioned for months now. I do need to practice taking smaller bites and eating more slowly, though.

Hey don't look at it like that. Look at it has you have 29 more days it could be worst. It be in two months. You have to stay positive and have a little more patients. (I'm talking to myself as well). My surgery is Oct 14, we're almost there.
